About Nora Jane Struthers:
Born in Virginia and raised in New Jersey, Nora Jane Struthers began her musical career as a pre-teen, attending festivals and fiddlers' conventions around the south with her banjo-playing father. As an adult, she moved to Nashville to begin touring with Bearfoot, and started her first solo-fronted group, the Bootleggers. Along the way, she worked with bluegrass stars like Tim O'Brien, Stuart Duncan, and Bryan Sutton, and released two critically-acclaimed albums. In 2012, Struthers formed her now-longtime road band the Party Line.
Today, Struthers is focused on her latest album, Champion. The 13-song collection is the follow-up to her 2015 album, Wake, which earned acclaim from major outlets like NPR Music, Rolling Stone Country, and “Fresh Air.” The album, produced by Neilson Hubbard in Nashville, is full of stellar musicianship and unexpected arrangements that blur the lines between folk, roots, and rock.
Struthers will be performing at the upcoming Sounds of Summer concert event August 16, with a portion of proceeds benefiting The Joy of Music School.
